The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority and the US Army Corps of Engineers Sign Historic Partnership Agreement
June 23rd, 2008 7:00pm

This morning the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) took a significant step forward in the Delaware River Channel Deepening Project with the signing of a Project Partnership Agreement. The signing of this agreement allows the USACE to begin work towards deepening the river from 40 to 45 feet. Governor Rendell, Senator Arlen Specter and Congressman Robert Brady were joined by Assistant Army Secretary John Paul Woodley Jr. along with community and labor leaders for the ceremony at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal in South Philadelphia.
